Partners in Parenting

Partners in Parenting is a program for parents of young children in our community that provides information on issues that are important to today's parents. This program is designed to help parents give their child the best possible start in life.

WHAT IS PARTNERS IN PARENTING?
Partners in Parenting is a program for parents of young children in our community that provides information on issues that are important to today's parents. This program is designed to help parents give their child the best possible start in life. The services we provide for parents and children focus on the child's development and issues that may concern you as a parent as your child grows.

Partners in Parenting:

  • Promotes Positive Parenting

  • Focuses on Developmental Concerns

  • Promotes Parent and Child Activities

  • Helps with the Difficult Job of Parenting

  • Provides a Parent Resource Library

  • Focuses on Parents as their Child's First Teacher

  • Sends a Timely Newsletter

  • Provides Classes and Workshops

  • Provides a Parents As Teachers Home Visitor

  • Provides Services at No Cost

  • Has a Drop In and Play Site

SERVICES

Drop In And Play

  • For parents and children ages 0 to 4.

  • Weekly program that offers parents of younger children an opportunity to meet with other families to talk and play together.

  • Children's toys, books, and parent resources are all available at the center.

  • Check your newsletter for the schedule.

Home Visits

  • For children ages 0 to 3.

  • The parent educator will provide a listening ear for a parent who already knows what to do but wants to talk it out with someone else.

  • Parents can arrange to meet with a parent educator to discuss parenting concerns. Appropriate activities, toys, and information about child growth and development will be shared

Parent Education
Parent education classes and informational workshops will be offered on topics of interest throughout the school year.

  • For Parents of Children Under Age 6.

  • Certificates of Attendance Available.

  • Day and Evening Classes.

  • Childcare Provided at No Cost

Enrichment Topics

  • Toilet Training

  • Anger Management

  • Getting Cooperation

  • Mistakes Parents Make

  • Alternatives to Punishment

  • Raising a Self-Reliant Child

  • Developing a Confident Child

  • Boosting Children's Brain Power

  • How to Be a Nurturing Parent

  • Habits of a Successful Family

  • Dealing With Your Child's Feelings

  • Ways to Avoid Wounding a Child's Spirit

  • Other workshops can be developed to meet identified parent needs.
